1985

Brady was founded by Dr Robert Brady. Brady set its vision to excel in its technological innovation in the commodity trade and risk management sector and providing world class solutions for world class customers

2004

Brady was listed on AIM to provide extra stability, strength and visibility of governance to clients. The public listing provided the company with ready access to capital from supportive investors in order to support growth by acquisition to complement its organic growth.

2007

Recognising the challenges the company was facing in a dynamic and fast paced industry, Brady came under a new and exciting management. Gavin Lavelle was appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Tony Ratcliffe as Finance Director, and Paul Fullagar as Chairman. Seeing that Brady had a good platform in metals, the new Board was brought in to drive further growth in the business via international expansion, strengthening marketing and distribution and solution diversification. The board considered a strategy of carefully selected acquisitions to strengthen Brady’s offering to its customers as well as fully using the AIM listing to strengthen and diversify its investor base.

2009

Brady successfully acquired Commodities Software (UK) Ltd, known as Comsoft focussing on raw materials and concentrates. Brady already had a strong position in derivative and refined metal trading. Comsoft were the market leaders in concentrate trading solutions which is raw material metals. Both companies already had a number of joint clients. By acquiring Comsoft Brady has been able to use Comsoft’s expert solution and domain expertise alongside its strong brand and international distribution channels to significantly grow the business.

2010

Brady went on to successfully acquire Viveo, a software solution provider specialising in the physical trading of soft commodities as well as oil and metals. The Viveo acquisition has proved to be an excellent fit and Brady is now highly competent in soft commodity derivative trading and other commodity asset classes.

2012

SAI is a market leader in recycling software which is highly complementary to Brady’s existing market leading concentrates, refined and financial metals trading business and also provides both product and domain knowledge along with people skills, as Brady expands its presence in the North American markets. This acquisition further strengthens Brady’s product offering to the market by complementing its existing financial and risk management capabilities and provides new cross-selling and other growth opportunities

2012

By bringing syseca into the Brady Group, we acquired a team of energy experts in the physical power scheduling space, who had developed a scheduling solution covering the major TSO's, which further complemented the Brady Energy offering and offered our customers a complete solution for their physical and financial energy trading requirements..

2012

The acquisitions of Navita; bringing additional energy expertise and client base to the Group, focussing on the physical power markets. A significant company in the physical energy sector which makes a vital contribution to Brady plc as a whole. Navita’s acquisition was of immense importance for Brady. It helped to consolidate the company’s position as the leading energy software company in Europe. The combination of Brady Energy (formerly Viz) financial and risk management skills aligned with Navita’s proven strength in physical energy trading made a very compelling rationale for the acquisition. Brady raised £18 million to fund the transaction, which once again broadens our investor base and increasing liquidity in our stock.

2010

Late 2010 saw Brady’s entrance into the energy solution market. This was a natural progression, since Brady estimated that more than 60% of its customers are actively trading energy. Viz Risk Management was therefore an excellent platform for energy trading and risk management. At the time Brady raised £12 million, enabling the company to significantly broaden its institutional customer base.
