Brady is a proven market leader and provides a solution for all sizes of operation. For those requiring hundreds of users across the entire process from point of production to end-user to only a few users targeting one aspect of the supply chain; we have a solution. Brady's solutions can also be fully integrated with 3rd party systems, either internal or external applications.

Banks

If you are participating in a volatile commodity market, it is imperative that Portfolio Managers and Traders can assess both internal and client positions accurately using the latest market price data. Brady's systems are designed with this in mind: they come complete with a suite of pre-defined user reports from simple trade listings to more complex 'What If' stress testing Matrices for in-depth risk/reward analysis.

However, we also recognise the fact that in today's ever changing market environment there is a need to adapt the way in which 'Risk' is reported, so our systems are user configurable allowing new reports to be created instantly. In addition, our experienced professionals, with both Commodity Market and IT backgrounds, are on hand to liaise and advise on Risk, Regularity and Compliance reporting methods, such as Value at Risk ('VaR') and CAD II, and how these can be incorporated in our systems.

When market activity is at its busiest, time is of the essence when it comes to position reporting. Macros can be generated and scheduled to run user reports at any given time, the results of which can be printed or output to file. Overnight batch processes can be created and run, allowing immediate analysis first thing the following morning.

Having the ability to interface with third party systems is also now a necessity. Our systems have been successfully implemented within organisations with interfaces to other systems, both internal and external, including LCH.Clearnet matching system and LME SWORD warrant transfer system, while our General Ledger Interface allows seamless data-flows between accounting systems.

In addition, the advancement in technology over the last few decades has made the commodity market place truly global, allowing a large number of contracts to be traded around the clock from virtually anywhere in the world. So, Brady has designed its systems to have single or multiple databases that can be accessed by users at any number of different locations.

Traders & Merchants

Brady's systems are designed with this in mind: they come complete with a suite of 'What-if' Reports allowing risk/reward exposure to be analysed over a wide range of parameters including Price, Volatility and Time. Individual or multiple test strategies can be input to assess the impact they will have on your portfolio, before being committed to as live trades.

Equally important is the storage and manipulation of Forward Price and Volatility curves. Our systems allow for the storage of multiple curves, these can be edited manually or can be automatically updated at any given time resulting in instant and precise position reporting. Volatility Smiles/Skews can be created in a number of ways in addition to Weighting Scenarios, which allow for further in-depth position analysis.

Hedge Funds

Hedge funds pride themselves on being nimble and creative. Managers are under constant pressure to outperform the market benchmark indices against which they are measured. With 10% of all hedge funds collapsing each year due to the competitive pressures in the industry, funds are placing cost control and efficiency higher in their priorities. The hedge fund industry is also facing increased levels of scrutiny as regulators seek to protect investors with a greater level of transparency, so fund managers may be required to prepare additional reports for both investors and regulatory bodies.

Just as importantly, the ability of traders to spot market trends and act upon them quickly in fast-moving markets are key drivers, especially when only a few basis points can make the difference between a good or bad trade. As a result, they need information at their finger-tips in order to understand their current position and act upon market opportunities.

With Brady’s solutions, traders have complete power over the management of their trading information and can perform 'what-if' scenario analysis on how a proposed new trade may affect the portfolio. A deal capture screen provides all deal-related data on-screen for reference and validation, and includes many functions to reduce input time and errors, such as the automatic calculation of commissions from pre-defined rules and real-time limit reporting, which can immediately flag position limit violations.

All aspects of risk can be measured, including stress testing, gap analysis, scenario analysis and Value at Risk (“VaR”) by variance/covariance and Monte Carlo methods. The risk analysis tools can be used at both the desk and firm-wide levels, which provides an open and flexible means of effectively managing derivative positions in the portfolio. Mark-to-Market reports can be generated and stress-tested either on a selected portion of the portfolio or the entire portfolio with one click.

In addition, powerful query and reporting tools allow management to view, analyse and report on any aspect of the business. All data can be analysed cross product, cross portfolio, as well as by desk and by trader. All analysis can be viewed on-line and produced as reports for distribution on paper or via an intranet.
