Entelios increases power trading capabilities with Brady’s intraday solution

Entelios, one of the largest suppliers of renewable energy in the Nordic business-to-business market has gone live with Brady’s solution to support expansion of its power trading activities across the region.

Brady’s platform helps to optimise power trading operations across Europe. It offers specialist functions for short-term trading on Nord Pool and EPEX, time-series data analysis in real-time, production planning and connectivity with Nordic TSOs to meet balancing and delivery commitments.

‘We sought a best of breed solution to effectively manage our imbalance through short-term trading in the intraday market to reduce imbalance costs. Brady’s experience and understanding of the Nord Pool market has been a key driver in completing a successful delivery project. The implementation has been delivered to the highest of standards. We look forward to using these functions to make our day-to-day power trading activities efficient and productive over the coming months.’

says Entelios, CEO, Atle Knudsen.

Entelios is a subsidiary of Agder Energi AS (Agder), one of Norway’s largest producers of clean, renewable hydropower. Agder has been a customer of Brady’s for nearly 20 years. Brady’s solution is already in extensive use for supporting Agders’ day ahead trading operations in Norway and Denmark. Further to its Nordic expansion of Entelios and rebranding of its corporate portfolio, Agder sought to align and simplify its energy trading IT landscape across all subsidiaries and provide customers with a consistent experience. The Entelios ‘One Nordic’ project was initiated with this main goal.

Within the scope of the ‘One Nordic’ project, Brady’s solution has been implemented as the core platform to support short-term trading, including day-ahead and intraday, as well as managing the back-office settlement process across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, with capability to expand into more markets in the future. Furthermore, Brady’s solution provides the ability to derive the most value from forecasting and meter data, assess non-standard custom portfolios in greater detail and address Swedish settlement nuances.

‘Agder Energi AS, is a long-established customer. They have made significant contributions to the development of our physical energy trading platform over the years. We are delighted to see Agder leveraging our solution across their corporate IT landscape. We look forward to further developing the successful collaboration we already have established with Entelios.’

says Carmen Carey, CEO, Brady.
